The Tinted Hollows is a cave system and a former ebony mine located in the Ashlands close to the lands of House Wayne. The Tinted Hollows were home to a prosperous mining settlement but was abandoned some 50 years ago when the settlement's inhabitants went missing.
At first glance, the mines may simply appear as just a regular ebony mine. However, it holds a dark secret. According to a journal kept by the miners, they described strange sounds coming from deep beneath the mines. They also describe hearing "drums in the deep" and "shadows moving in the dark". The miners believed that the caves located far below the mines are home to creatures which they vaguely call the "Deep Ones". It is believed that the Deep Ones were responsible for the disappearance of the miners and that those creatures still dwell there. Despite the mystery surrounding them, Trevyr Blackgard declared the Tinted Hollows as a forbidden zone and forbids giving its surrounding lands to any local lord.
