The Sixth Blackfyre Rebellion was a major conflict during the reign of Daenerys I Targaryen. Following a general dissatisfaction in Daenerys' reign from a number of lords, Aegon Blackfyre, the last surviving member of House Blackfyre, aided by the Golden Company and his uncle, invaded Westeros and rallied a number of small lords to his cause. The rebellion was the culmination of a decades long plot by Illyrio Mopatis of Pentos and Varys, to put Aegon, Illyrio's son with Serra Blackfyre, on the Iron Throne.
Following Aegon's defeat, he manged to escape to the Free Cities. Years later, following the outbreak of civil war in Westeros between the reigning king Jaehaerys III and Princess Rhaenys, Aegon launched a second invasion.
