Bordermen traveling through the Black Road.
The Black Road is a long highway in the Ashlands, running from the Reach and the Westerlands all the way into Blackgard. The Black Road is the only road in the Ashlands. Travelers and traders are forced to take this route as it is the only safe way into the Stormlands and to prevent people from entering the region without authorization from the Blackgards. The road is controlled by the Warden of the Black Road, which is traditionally held by the Lord of Dunharrow and head of House Mercer.
