Sandwyrms are a kind of large carnivorous, worm-like reptiles native to the subterranean surface of the Ashlands. Sandwyrms rarely leave their underground habitats, only when there is no more food left. Even then they are very elusive and hardly ever spotted. The blood of a sandwyrm is said to cure fever.
