Queen Rhaenys I Targaryen was the twenty-second member of the Targaryen dynasty to sit the Iron Throne, and the second female. She usurped the throne from her nephew Jaehaerys III Targaryen during the Second Dance of the Dragons. She was the second daughter and fifth child of Daenerys I Targaryen.
Rhaenys ruled from 351 AC to 354 AC and was succeeded by her son Viserys III, following the Great Council of 354 AC.
Rhaenys was killed by her nephew Perros Martell at the Battle of Faring Cross in 356 AC following a revolt against her reign.
Rhaenys was a dragonrider and rode the dragon Greyfyre.
