King Marlin Mallory, also known as the Merchant King, is a mentioned character in Game of Thrones. He has only appeared in the Histories & Lore featurettes. He was a wealthy and veteran merchant famous for constructing Westwater Watch, the seat of House Mallory, the house he later founded.

The founder of House Mallory lived about seven hundred years before the War of the Five Kings, four hundred years before the Targaryen Conquest.[1]
Marlin Mallory and his colleagues once sailed along the Mallor river, looking to trade their spices. At one point, they discovered that the Mallor's branches connect with almost every other river in the Reach, and that eventually every branch of the Mallor connect at one single point somewhere in the Reach. At this exact point, was where Marlin and his men laid the foundations of Westwater Watch. They quickly discovered that thanks to this outpost, mountains of gold came flooding in, making Marlin and his men very rich in a relatively short period of time. As a result of this, he eventually came to found House Mallory.[2]
