Ser Joriff Snow is a minor character in the second, third and fourth seasons of Game of Thrones. He is a knight from the North and a bastard son of Lord Rickard Karstark. He served House Dragen alongside Ethan Snow. He is played by guest star Jonas Armstrong.

Background

Early life

Joriff was born a few years before his half-brother Harrion Karstark. His mother had been a very memorable peasant woman in service to House Karstark, enough to gain the attention of Lord Rickard.

When he was 9 years old, Lord Rickard sent Joriff to Snake Mount to serve House Dragen. Respecting his father, Lord Garth Dragen treated him well. When he came of age, Joriff squired for an unknown knight in the Riverlands, and eventually gained a knighthood. He decided to return to Snake Mount and serve the Dragens, and did so for many years. He would eventually meet and befriend Ethan Snow, Lord Dragen's own bastard son.

Season 3

When Joriff heard of Rickard Karstark's execution at Riverrun, he decided to leave Snake Mount, and was aided by some of his men south towards the Riverlands. Before he could arrive, he was made aware of House Frey's involvement in destroying Robb Stark and his army, and delightedly returned to Snake Mount, bringing the news to Lord Dragen with him.
