Jiba Fofi Spiders can be found in The Neck
Jiba Fofi (meaning "Large Spider" in Old Tongue) spiders spin large circular funnel-shaped webs between two or three trees which they utilized to capture birds, deer, and other small game animals. They also weave their lairs made of leaves and twigs. They are arboreal and can be found in The Neck.
Life Cycle[]
Their eggs are the size of fists, and juveniles are yellowish with purple abdomens. As they mature, they turn brown and then black, and can reach four to five feet in length. A large skull-like shape then becomes apparent on their abdomen once they have reached adulthood.
The Crannogmen say that they are strong enough to overpower humans at adulthood. Descriptions of the Jiba Fofi spider differ within The Neck, with some variance in color.
Predation on Humans[]
Smallfolk believe that the Jiba Fofi are able to imitate the sounds of calling mothers or children, luring small children and nursing mothers away from human habitation and interference. A single Jiba Fofi spiders' bite causes life-long paraplegia. The area that was bitten then becomes a swollen hollow hole (slightly larger than a fist) and if not stopped, the Jiba Fofi then proceeds to slowly inject a single fist-sized Jiba Fofi egg inside.
