Lord Gryff Whitehill is a major character in the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth seasons, and was previously a recurring character in the third season. He is the fourtborn son of Lord Ludd Whitehill and was a soldier in Roose Bolton's Northern garrison at Harrenhal during the War of the Five Kings. Later on, during House Whitehill's conflict against House Forrester, Gryff is appointed commander of the Whitehill garrison at Ironrath, and, after his father's death during the Battle of Ironrath, is named Lord of Ironrath himself. Later on still, he becomes the field commander of Cersei Lannister's White Lion Army.
