Ser Dalton Ashes, also known as Grim Dalton is a recurring character in the seventh season. He is portrayed by guest star Moe Dunford, who also portrayed a Stark messenger in the second season, and debuts in the season's first episode. Dalton was a knight and the master-at-arms at Ebonheart before Brant Tymber.

The acknowledged bastard son of Lord Carros Heartley, Ser Dalton was good friends with Trevas Blackgard and briefly trained his youngest brother Trevyr Blackgard in swordsmanship. He secretly held an affair with Lady Aurola Blackgard before his death at the hands of House Keller during the Fourth Border Wars. Dalton was the great-uncle of Lady Meryanne Heartley and Lord Carron Heartley, Wrath of the King to King Althurin I.
