The Battle of the Red Water was a battle between House Bolton of Ironrath,House Glover and House Greyjoy, during the War for the North during season 5.
Prelude[]
Before the battle Robett Glover had laid siege to his home Deepwood Motte with eight hundred men against the Ironborn garrison of two hundred led by Jason Drumm. Jason had his wife and kids captive and said that he would kill them if Robett attack Deepwood Motte.
While this was happening Rogar sent two messages to the two different sides, the one to the Glovers said that if Robett bend the knee to Rogar, than Rogar would help him take back Deepwood Motte. The one two the Iornborn was that Rogar would help them destroy the Glover host and help the Ironborn and Rogar would let them with there lives, both did not agree to the arrangement.
Rogar marched half his army to Deepwood Motte where he parlay with Robett and gave him the same offer but Robett refused again.
The Battle[]
The battle happened at Dawn and also very foggy. Rogar formed his host in a thin line his weakest infantry in the center and his best/heavy at the flanks and the cavalry hidden in the Wolfswood. The battle stared when Rogar loosed his archers on the Glover host killing many men. Robett than sent two hundred men into the center hoping to splint the host into two.
The host did splint into different hosts but than Rogar's heavy Infantry encircled the two hundred men and bowmen loosed arrows into the glob of men.
Robett only hearing the battle prepared his men for an attack but torches where seen in the distance. But Robett did not attack instead he let his archers loose flaming arrows and scorpion bolts into Rogar's host witch took some men.
After the two hundred Glover men are killed or captured, Rogar reformed his army and runed them into the Glover host in where the Glover men broke and where killed or captured but some men under Robett where pushed back into the coast where they where killed and where the battle got it's name from.
The Siege[]
Although the Glover host was destroyed Rogar still needed to take the castle and root out the Ironborn. So he gave the same offer he did to the Ironborn and besiege them for a night.
Inside the Ironborn men where becoming mutinous and turned on there commander Jason Drumm and fifty men where killed and the Ironborn opened the gates.
Aftermath[]
After the battle the Iornborn joined Rogars forces and Rogar gave the option of the Glover men joining him as well and eighty-nine men did the rest where flayed and put up on cross outside Deepwood Motte for those approaching Deepwood Motte.
When Roose and Ramsay heard of the battle after defeating Stannis. Ramsay wanted to march right away as they have the largest army in the North. But Roose says that another snow storm is coming and that they now have the wildlings to deal with at Castle Black.
The battle showed that Rogar was not a force to be reckoned with.
