Arwynd Blackgard is an unseen character in Game of Thrones. Arwynd was a Lord of Ebonheart during the fall of House Smithe.
Arwynd ruled Blackgard during the time of House Smithe's rule of the Smithlands. Arwynd took note of King Marthew Smithe's chaotic rule, readying the Borderlands for war. Arwynd would awaken from his bed to news that King Marthew had been assassinated, and his house exiled. Marching to the Smithlands, Arwynd discovered that House Harrigon had taken over the Smithe lands, becoming the New Kings of the Smithlands.
Arwynd had a personal meeting with Orroman Harrigon, the new King of the Smithlands. While congratulating Orroman for preventing war, Arwynd refused any alliance with the Harrigons, but hoped that in a century or more, the two houses would unite and trust each other fully.
Arwynd was succeeded by his eldest son Morran Blackgard.
