The Alliance of Crowns is an association founded by Lucerys Velaryon and Argon Celtigar with the aim of increasing their influence in the Narrow Sea. The alliance prospered following several trips to the east and a trade agreement with the recent Kingdom of the Three Daughters.
During the War of the Three Whores the alliance lost a large number of ships and men and this led to discontent with King Jaehaerys III, guilty of having dragged them into a useless war. During the second dance of the dragons, many houses, such as Velaryon and Celtigar, declared themselves in favor of Rhaegar II, however, those same houses abandoned it following an increase in taxes on merchants and due to the commercial blocks on the narrow sea imposed by the Blackfyre.
